Outside of AED

In the process of going through medical school, residency, and actually becoming a doctor, a lot of individuals find that they are much more interested in the administrative side of medicine. And what better way to get involved in management than having experience in the actual field? Going back to school for your Master’s in business isn’t nearly as time consuming as medical school and it allows a lot of doctors to stand out to executive search firms filling major leadership positions in some of the best hospitals.

One of the perks of working within Medicine, and in particular medical research, is the opportunity to travel and present your research as well as learn about other exciting breakthroughs in medicine. Most of the doctors that take advantage of these opportunities also take the opportunity to use a day or two to travel and experience the area they are in. For example, if you are at a conference in Hong Kong, doctors might take a day or two away from their accommodation in Hong Kong to travel to Macau and experience the famous Chinese island.

Students who are interested in psychology, but also want to go to medical school might want to think about a degree in psychiatry. Psychiatrists need to have a medical degree in order to practice in their field, and there are plenty of employment opportunities for psychiatrists. Doctors who are looking for new areas to practice could talk to a psychiatry recruitment service as a way to find interesting opportunities.
