Hunchun Sustainable Energy Project

This project will install a small, sustainable power plant on a MCD farm in Hunchun, China.  Initially we are looking at wind and solar solutions.  Eventually we will also consider micro-hydro and geothermal energy sources.   This project is currently underway.

General knowledge

http://www.scoraigwind.com/c2000hydro/index.htm

This site talks about how someone put together a working 1Kw wind-water hybrid system.

http://www.absak.com/diagram/general/index.html

This site is pretty useful for the diagram of how things are put together and what is needed

http://www.solarenergyalliance.com

a pretty good source of UK info

Solar

 http://www.ju.edu.jo/offices/REB/Renewable%20Energy%20stand%20alone%20system%20CORRECTION.pdf

This is a PDF talking about a 1Kw solar system that was set up by the UN in places such as Lebanon.

Wind

Bergey sites, actual makers of wind turbines and a specific example

Tells about how to choose a site

Gives a list of wind turbine suppliers

About a vertical wind generator, hmm?

Water

This has a lot of information, site evaluation tips, etc.   Pretty much all the links are golden...

This has general information, especially helpful are the "Education links," though some of them are Army specific

More good information, as per Canada's Hydro program

Good "on site" ideas and considerations for site development. Also, this gives the cost for them to build this back in the '70s. This is what I used to estimate the cost of building a 1-kW system today
