The TU campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity got its start in November of 2002. After working at the ReStore, some members of the Student Senate decided to start a project to build a house for TU. After talking to the Tulsa affiliate, the group discovered the possibility of forming a campus chapter. The group received its charter in October of 2003.

The purpose of campus chapters nationwide is to educate campuses and their surrounding communities about poverty housing, raise funds for their affiliates and Habitat International, and of course to help build. They can build with their affiliate, or participate in the Collegiate Challenge, a program that sends students across the country to build for other affiliates during school breaks.

The TU chapter sponsors a number of fundraisers and events each year to raise awareness and the $43,000 required to build a house. General meetings are held every other Thrusday, on the top floor of Sharp Chapel at 5:00PM, and last about an hour. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
