Video game night!

Posted on Wednesday 31 October 2007

Our event coordinator has been hard at work the last month organizing this LAN event, here are the details! Games will start at 8pm this Friday in Mabee Gym - you will have to enter through the door near security across from LaFortune (bring your id card!). We’ll have enough food and caffeinated beverages to last through the night as we plan on running this thing for up to 12 hours!

Here are the games that will be made available at the LAN

Console:
Guitar Hero series (on the projector screen again)
Halo series
GOW
SSBM
Mario Party 8
Wario Ware
and more!

PC games:
FEAR Combat (please register at http://www.joinfear.com/main for your key AHEAD of time)
Trial passes for certain Valve games (please create a Steam account AHEAD of time!)
RTCW: Enemy Territory
Savage
Scortched Earth 3D
Soldat
Quake 3 Arena
Unreal 3 (demo)
COD4 (demo)
These games will be circulated on installation DVDs and shared network drives. However, if you could install the ones you are interested in ahead of time, please do so!

This event we will have much more pizza and drinks as well as bagels for those who last until morning!

As usual, we will be collecting donations for the Child’s Play charity. This is our last event before we donate the money we have collected in the last year, so please make a generous donation so we break $1000!

**ATTENTION** It looks like we will have severely limited bandwidth at the event - no problem, we have more than enough people and games to have full LAN games going the whole time. But, that does mean that everyone needs to have “Offline Mode” for any Steam games they’ll want to play set up before the event to save time!

Due to some mishaps at the last event, we will be checking id’s at the door and have optional equipment registration. However, we are not responsible for any damaged or stolen equipment. As many people are lending us their equipment for use during the event, we will be offering monitored equipment storage for the duration of the event. Anyone wishing to use our console equipment will need to check it out at said storage area.
