'''Preliminary Thoughts''' The Waste Land as a palimpsest—if the poem itself is a palimpsest, it is still, to this day, being written over and over again. We now have even different kinds of media superimposing themselves on one another. Of course, we now have the advantage of thus-far endless space for writing and information; however, I would not say that the palimpsest-esque effect is quite lost. Our tl;dr culture may have limitless archives of information available, but we use such a small percentage of it all that the effect is still similar—the reader/observer/listener/audience is left with a scattering of images and impressions rather than a seamless whole. While the information is all present, the intake is still nearly as fragmented as it was when information was legitimately missing. ==Images== http://www.landwater-research.co.uk/img_content/large/3__Vol_III_Disintegration_01_2009_06_28_213018.jpg Source: [http://www.landwater-research.co.uk/lw.php?pg=sally-waterman Sally Waterman's "Visualising The Waste Land: Discovering a praxis of adaptation"] [[Analysis of Sally Waterman's "Visualising The Waste Land: Discovering a praxis of adaptation"]] ===External Links=== [http://visualandcriticalstudies.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/the-waste-land.jpg A Visual Guide to References in T.S.
