Natalie Hellman, B.A., completed a program milestone by presenting her Pre-Candidacy project to a community audience. In lieu of a Master’s Thesis, students must complete a Pre-Candidacy research paper and presentation.
Natalie’s project investigated the relationship between sexual assault and emotional controls of nociception. Specifically, her research project investigated if sexual assault survivors are able to emotionally modulate their pain and the Nociceptive Flexion Reflex (NFR). Her research paper is currently under review for publication.
