Dear Student Leaders,

As of February 18, your legislative branch had funded 215 event sponsorships, which was approximately the number of event sponsorships funded over the entirety of the previous academic year. So, due to an increase in the volume of requests for funding, the $180,000 allocated for event sponsorship will likely be consumed by spring break, given the current rate of spending. This situation is a unique opportunity for the executive and legislative branches of Student Association to assess how our funding process works, and our responsibility to you, the students, which we do not take lightly.

  Therefore, we are requesting that all event sponsorship applications for the remainder of the semester be submitted by March 18, 2013, at 11:59pm. This will allow the executive branch to assess how much more of the budget can be allocated to event sponsorship. Additionally, in an effort to provide for each student fairly, the applications will be processed in the order they are received, on a first-come, first-served basis.

  Your organization will be kept apprised of decisions made by the executive branch as the applications are processed, and if you have any concerns or questions, please direct those to me—I will be more than happy to address them.
