About 1982, then Director of Rare Books and Special Collections, David Farmer, oversaw the creation of A Guide to Literary and Related Materials, Rare Books and Special Collections, McFarlin Library, The University of Tulsa – a 28-page booklet discussing the most important and relevant collections held by the department at that time.

These are, of course, primarily the Literary collections, with little attention being paid to the historical collections. Presumably, these would have been handled in a later, separate, booklet that was never completed.

As it is the intention to present many of these same collections, it is an appropriate time to update and re-present some of these entries. In some cases, the entire entry will need modification.

These entries will be filed in the category “Guide to Literary and Related Materials”.
