Maureen O'Boyle - Violin
A graduate of the University of New Mexico and Yale
University, Ms. O’Boyle also studied the Suzuki Method
in Japan with Shinichi Suzuki. She is currently
instructor of violin at the University of Tulsa as well
as Concertmaster of the Tulsa Opera Orchestra.
Since 1993, Ms. O’Boyle has been Associate
Concertmaster of the Tulsa Philharmonic. She has
performed as a recitalist and with orchestras throughout
the United States as well as in Europe, Japan, and South
America. She has also held positions with the Omaha
Symphony, New Mexico Symphony, New Haven Symphony, and
the Grand Teton Music Festival. Before coming to Tulsa,
Ms. O’Boyle was the Instructor of Violin at Missouri
Southern State College in Joplin. |
Diane Bucchianeri - Cello
Diane Bucchianeri devotes her time to her two
passions, performing and teaching. She performs with Trio Tulsa, the ensemble in
residence at the University of Tulsa. Since becoming a member in 1995, Trio
Tulsa has given concerts in the United States, Mexico, and the Czech Republic.
In 1997 Trio Tulsa performed the Concertino for Piano Trio and String Orchestra
by Martinu with the Czech National Symphony at Dvorak Hall in Prague.
Bucchianeri can be heard with Trio Tulsa and in duo performances on the
following CDs: Music of Bohuslav Martinu (Centaur Records CRC 2415), Manuel
Ponce Chamber Music (ASV KOCH CD DCA 1053), and A Vision of Hills, Chamber Music
of Gwyneth Walker (Centaur Records CRC 2820).
Bucchianeri first discovered her love of teaching
while in college, assisting her teacher David Wells at the Manhattan School of
Music Preparatory Division and the Yellow Barn Music Festival in Vermont. In
addition to maintaining a private studio throughout the years, she has taught at
the Orquesta Sinfonica Juvenil in Costa Rica, the University of Costa Rica, and
Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. A graduate of the Manhattan School of
Music with a B.M. and M.M. in performance, Diane Bucchianeri now holds the
position of Assistant Professor of Cello and Chamber Music at the University of
Tulsa. She also serves as Coordinator of Strings. In keeping with her passion
for teaching, Bucchianeri joined the faculty of the Barthelmes Conservatory in
2007, a preparatory school dedicated to providing excellence in musical training
for the young.
Before joining the faculty at the University of
Tulsa, Bucchianeri traveled extensively, performing with various chamber
ensembles and orchestras in the United States, France, Poland, Germany, Costa
Rica, Mexico, and South America. She has been Principal Cellist of the National
Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica and the Regional Orchestra of the Auvergne in
France, Associate Principal Cellist of the Tulsa Philharmonic, and a member of
the Mexico City Philharmonic and the Charlotte Symphony.
Bucchianeri’s principal teachers were Irving
Klein, David Wells, and Maurice Gendron.

William Price - Piano
William Roger Price, Professor of Music (Piano and Composition) at The
University of Tulsa is one among a small number of pianists who has composed and
performed his own piano concertos and is one of the very few Americans who has
premiered his own concertos in Europe.
Price premiered his own Piano Concerto No. 2, appearing as soloist and
composer, with the Madeira (Portugal) Classical Orchestra. A recording of his
first piano concerto entitled Rhapsodies for Piano and Orchestra with the Warsaw
Philharmonic Orchestra, Jerzy Swoboda conducting and with the composer at the
piano is included on the CD MMC NEW CENTURY Vol. 13 (MMC Recordings). It is
available at mmc.recordings.com.
In addition to his numerous appearances as recital soloist and collaborative
musician, Price has performed with such orchestras as the Warsaw National
Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Jerzy Swoboda, the New York Solisti
with Ransom Wilson, The Tulsa Philharmonic with Bernard Rubenstein and others.
Price has also gained national recognition as a church music composer through
his works published through St. James Music Press (sjmp.com). Price has received
commissions from such organizations as Oklahoma Music Teachers Association, St.
James Music Press, The Sequeira Costa International Festival of Music, The
Bartlesville Symphony and The University of Tulsa. His compositions have been
published by St. James Music Press and Voice of The Rockies. His works have been
performed by The Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, The TULSAFEST Festival
Orchestra, The Bartlesville Symphony, The University of Tulsa Symphony, The
Leonardo Trio, Trio Brioso and others. |
