Kenneth G. Grass

Professor Kenneth Grass serves as Director of Bands, as well as Coordinator of Instrumental Music Education. As Director of Bands, Professor Grass conducts the University Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, The "Sound" of the Golden Hurricane Marching Band, and the Basketball Pep Band. In addition to these responsibilities, Professor Grass also teaches all instrumental music education courses, as well as Advanced Instrumental Conducting.

Prior to his arrival at the University of Tulsa, Ken Grass served as Coordinator of Instrumental Music for Broken Arrow Public Schools in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma for thirteen years. While in Broken Arrow, his bands received a record number of Sweepstakes Awards and Superior Ratings in marching and jazz bands. In 1987, Grass received special recognition from the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association for his "Service to Marching Bands Award". In 2002, Professor Grass was inducted into the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame. In 1995, Grass was inducted into the Northeastern State University (Talequah, OK) Department of Music Hall of Fame, where he received his BME. Grass received his MME for North Texas State University in Denton, Texas where he served as a graduate assistant.

In addition to a busy teaching and performance schedule, Professor Grass remains active as a clinician, adjudicator, and guest conductor throughout the nation.
