What is TPJF?
In the spring of 2003, during the run-up to the Iraqi invasion, a group of TU students felt that there needed to be a voice on campus calling for peace instead of conflict, for diplomacy instead of war. That voice came in the form of Not in Our Name, pro-peace event held in Kendall Hall featuring speakers, musicians, and activists from TU and the Tulsa community. The continued need for that voice resulted in the TU Peace & Justice Fellowship, a non-partisan group with an eye to social justice that continues to shed light on social justice issues through film series, conference visits, interfaith vigils, speakers, panel discussions, fair trade fairs, and an annual concert benefiting local charities. Our objective is to encourage a dialogue of ideas and provide an open forum in which to discuss local, national and international justice issues.
