Hi, my name is Elizabeth Hartney and I am a senior English and French double major. Up until recently, I was a French/Secondary Education major but I had some teaching experience last semester (which I spent abroad in Nantes, France) and decided I'm no longer interested in becoming a teacher. I've always had an interest in English and have taken some literature courses while at TU so I felt that it would be a good fit for me. I wanted to take this course because I prefer more recent English literature. I am taking several courses that require me to study older texts, so I thought that a WWI course would provide some balance in my schedule so I can offset all of the literature from centuries ago with some that is more recent. I am also very unfamiliar with WWI and think it will be interesting to learn more about it from an historical perspective.
