This poster displays a matronly woman with her arms open, appealing to the women left behind on the homefront. It's purpose was to call women to buy war bonds and support the men that they had sent off to war. It is a poster orginating from the Unted States and so appeals to the female population of the United States.
This poster draws on the heart strings of the female population, specifically mothers by stating that the men sent over to fight are not just their sons, but America's sons and so deserve the best protection that America can offer.
