Description

This diary began as a a letter to Thomas Kyle's mother in America describing his trip to the British Isles while on leave from his military duties in France. The letter goes on to detail Kyle's travels through Scotland, Ireland, and England and his various experiences with their peoples and traditions. The diary also includes many keepsakes from Kyle's trip, including a playbill, a rugby schedule, an M.P. ticket, postcards, receipts from meals, and various posters from tourist sites and housing establishments among other items. The diary is staple-bound with scrapbook items glued to blank pages among pages of typewritten text.
