New Acquisition

The department’s newest acquisition is three wood engraved illustrations for Oscar Wilde’s De Profundis by Peter Forster (Coll. No. 2011.032). The signed and numbered prints were made from the woodblocks used in Forster’s 1991 Folio Society edition of De Profundis, which the department also holds in the Rupert Hart-Davis library.

The six-color prints, titled “Awful Brevity,” “Judgement,” and “The Evidence of the Linen,” were produced by Forster in 1992. The addition of these items complements our growing collection of Wildeana.
